Once upon a time there were two sisters
who went to different schools
and became rivals long into old age.
One sister was well-read and eccentric
while the other was practical and suffered life
with stubborn patience.
Despite their different paths they were eventually
reunited in a nursing home where
they could bicker about the past.
Their memories dwindled
until they had nothing left to resolve.
They discovered a shared right-wing prejudice
which transcended class and personal history
but made some family members awkward when they visited.
