Once upon a time there was a kiss
for the camera, long and lit by hot lamps.
It was displayed in a gallery and many
people stood and dreamed of being touched
in such a way. They held their wine
and told nobody what they thought.
One night when no one was looking
the kiss escaped and searched the streets
for these lonely people.
It spent years in the city
watching and spreading passion between
silent friends or beautiful strangers.
Deeper than they had dreamed,
artless and unexpected,
the kiss eventually found them all.
